Handri Harris Handoyo Bio.
Handri Handoyo joined Local Power in 2025. His prior research includes a comprehensive comparative analysis of all 25 California CCAs, charting a path forward for energy democracy and community self-determination. As National Student Forum Chair for the Student PIRGs and Vice-Chair of CALPIRG, he trained and mobilized thousands of students across the country. He went on to found and lead the End Oil Drilling coalition, whose work culminated in California’s statewide ban on hydraulic fracturing. Under his leadership, the campaign coalition trained over 1,000 volunteers, organized 160+ lobby meetings, secured 18 major media stories, and staged 10 large public events to unite communities behind the call for environmental justice. Handri’s advocacy work spans beyond renewable energy to include college affordability, voter registration, plastic waste reduction, and protections for pollinators. In addition to campaign leadership, Handri has worked deeply with place-based organizations including Ecovista, Central Coast Climate Justice Network, Fairview Gardens Farms, and UAW 4811. Handri holds a Master of Public Policy from the University of California, Berkeley and a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Studies from the University of California, Santa Barbara.
