Local Power Campaigns

Local Power staff have managed multiple state and local campaigns for Community Choice Aggregation, Solar Bonds, and other local energy initiatives.

Notable successes include the passage of the state law AB117, the passage of the H Bond in San Francisco to provide the city with the bond authority to finance local renewable and energy efficiency deployments. We formed the official Political Action Committee, provided press communication, and helped organize field support for the successful statewide campaign against PG&E's Proposition 16 in 2010, which the San Francisco Bay Guardian called "one of the great progressive victories in California history." Local Power staff have decades of experience in major issue and political candidate campaigns for those pursuing a local power agenda, including now Governor Jerry Brown when he successfully ran for Mayor of Oakland in 1998. Local Power has provided overall campaign management, field campaign management, coordination of press strategy, volunteer management, coalition building, endorsements, design and writing of mailed and distributed materials, and the creation of campaign websites. We are committed to empowerment of local communities to achieve energy independence, with a consistent record of success. Contact us to help your community with a public outreach or issue campaign.
